It also serves to provide information for people looking for puppies, who wish to contact Breeders in their area, to find out more about the Breed and also when puppies are planned. If you would like to discuss the purchase of a puppy in more detail, please contact the Secretary:-

The SSA Health Sub-Committee strongly recommends that breeding stock, dogs and bitches are hip-scored under the Kennel Club/British Veterinary Association, Hip-scoring Scheme.

The Association, Officers and Committee of the Association do not, nor can it be implied, carry out any enquiries or investigations about Breeders or about any puppies, they may subsequently breed.
The Applicant should carry out all the normal customary checks that a prudent puppy buyer would carry out before deciding to proceed.
The Applicant is advised to consult a Veterinary Surgeon to discuss this Breed and any problems it may have before purchase.
The Association has published a booklet "SO YOU WANT A SUSSEX SPANIEL" for newcomers to the breed and those interested in purchasing a puppy. Full of information listing the plus and minus sides of owning a Sussex Spaniel. Alternatively please send a stamped addressed A5 envelope plus two extra stamps to cover SSA printing costs to the Secretary
